Where to eat

When eating, eat as the Spaniards do
Eating cheap doesn’t mean you have to eat in a dump. Through my travels in Spain I have discovered some very nice places to eat. Lunch in Spain is cheaper than eating in the evening. In Franco's time, "menu del dia" (menu of the day) was created to offer people a nutritious meal for a fair price. Franco is gone, but the tradition has stayed in most restaurants. This menu consists of a three-course meal, complete with bread, drink (water or wine) and dessert.

Alcala de Henares

This place right in the center of Alcala called "El Otro Foro" (C/ Gallo 10) doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a great secret amongst the University professors since some of them eat here. The food was superb and "el menu del día" was only 10 euros. The decoration was great fun since it's not only a restaurant, but also a lounge club in the evenings.
